Mike Rita has made a name for himself in Toronto’s comedy scene. He is a regular on the national comedy circuit, but always returns to the cannabis vapour lounges were he got his start. A marijuana activist at his core, Mike believes that comedy helps bring people into the community.

 

“I think comedy is opening up the doors to people. They come here for the first time to see a comedy show, and then they learn that there is a whole bunch more that they can do,” he says. “People want to support marijuana activism, and they learn that the can just come to the lounge, pay the $10 bucks and know that they’re supporting not only comedians and the space, but that it’s going towards a much larger cause.”

 

Mike hosts a comedy variety show called ‘Stoners Sundays’ every week at Vapour Central in downtown Toronto. He entertains the crowd in between showcasing local up-and-coming comics and music acts along with guest stars from around North America. You can also find Mike at Vape on the Lake in Etobicoke Wednesday nights.
